In addition to being one of the most important service titles in itself, logistics plays a key role in the social and economic field, and because it is below for all other service and production sectors, the important strategic area of ??our age and the future may continue. Logistics activities that we can talk about even in prehuman times; Developed economy, high value-added and appropriate production constitutes the first prerequisite for high-level quality and customer satisfaction. Logistics is not just a transport and storage activity; as well as the main courses of supply chain management, specialization and all other core business and operations of organizations. On the other hand, logistics refers to the important and attributes of transport elsewhere per transport types. For example, sea, air, and rail transport are independently in the important global independent sector. Logistics, which expresses all this added subject and contains; in an organization that is as old as history but paving the way for the future.
Logistics; It is the only sector that uses information and technology at the same time, which includes intensive use of computer technologies, robotic applications, satellite technologies, computer programs, and with this feature, which is at the far end where different broadcasts can reach. This is sometimes an important application area of ??advanced technological developments in the logistics sector.
Logistics is not a local practice in general, but a global activity. Starting locally and transitioning to a global environment, all the way to the individual is in the fight zone. Time in logistics is both local and universal time, every point of the Planet. For this reason, it makes it necessary to perform precise operations with perfect application and perfect timing. Along with a flawless operation design, foreign language knowledge, international integration, use of advanced technology, helpful and creative solution methods and many working features are features.
Among the sectors that will increase its importance in the future, logistics has always been mentioned at the forefront; Being one of the leading companies due to the potential of our country and our city, it is a natural expectation that it will have much more importance in the future and can become a global logistics center. This time, our Logistics Management department aims to train open and instructive manager candidates who have international qualifications, technical and foreign language knowledge to meet the needs of the logistics industry.
Iğdır University Department of Logistics Management was opened in accordance with the 7 / h article of the Law No.2547 amended by the Law No.2880 and the decision of the General Council of Higher Education dated 21.05.2020 and the first assumed 2020-2021 academic year started to accept students. The department includes two semesters (one academic year) of optional English preparatory education and a second foreign language education and activities during the education period.
Iğdır University Department of Logistics Management was established with the aim of training management candidates with leading international qualifications in the field of logistics by taking advantage of the logistics potential of our country and Iğdır.
