About the Department

Economıcs Department was founded in 2012-2013. Our academic program follows a curriculum combining fundamental concepts, research methods and main concerns of economics and the contemporary developments of Turkish economy. Our academic staff specializes in four main divisions of economics, mainly Theory of Economics, Economic Policy, History of Economics and Economic Development and International Economics. Our Program aims to analyze problems related to the economics faced at national and international level by utilizing different theories and point of views. In our courses, contemporary developments are being approached both from theoretical and practical perspectives.

Education

The education period is four years in te department. There are introduction to economics, micro economics, macro economics lessons besides management, law, administration, statistics. The aim of tese lessons are gaining students general knowledge besides developing analysis and criticism strength.

Working areas of Economıcs Graduates

Graduates of Economics may work in all economic institutions and establishments.At the same time, they can be employed as specialist, government’s planning and execution institutions. Besides there are variety of job opportunities, career chances

also exist in banking, homeland and foreign trade and management. Jobs that economics graduates may work are: as an academician, bank inspectorship, state budget expertise, foreign trade expertise, income controllership.customs and trade

expertise, treasury expertise, tax inspectorship and income expertise.

History

Department of Economics, was opened in the framework of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in02 february 2012 and act n-2012.3.13 and continues related education  with its structural academic rigging. There work 1 Prof., 2 Assoc. Prof. , 4 Research Assist. in the department of Economics. In 2014-2015 academic year 136 students registered to the department.
