The Department of Political Science and Public Administration was opened in 2012-2013. The main mission of the department is to train highly qualified executive candidates who respect human rights, take care of the public interest, and contribute to higher education for the future of the country.

The education period of the department of political science and public administration is 4 years. The education program of the department aims to train people who will take part in various positions in the public sector. The Department of Political Science and Public Administration provides an education in which political and administrative issues, which are closely related fields, are discussed from a scientific point of view. Students who receive this training are equipped with the knowledge and skills that a manager in the public and private sector will need, and they gain a scientific perspective on social, political and intellectual issues.

Graduates of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, upper and middle level professionals who require expertise in public institutions such as the Ministry of Interior, the State Planning Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, the Capital Markets Board and various local government institutions. can hold managerial positions. They are also preferred in the audit and personnel departments of the banking sector and other private sector institutions. In addition, the increasing power of decision-making and implementation methods open to the participation of non-governmental organizations in the determination of managerial and economic policies in the European Union harmonization process makes department graduates advantageous in this field, considering the program followed.
